Facilitative Leadership Training

The purpose of this training is to prepare participants to lead improvement project events. The training is one day duration. Facilitation actions are categorized into two types for the purpose of study and practice.  First, are Preventions; creating an agenda, clarifying roles, understanding decision making methods are examples.  Second, are Interventions; dealing with unproductive or dysfunctional behavior such as lack of participation, side discussions, and negative comments.  Giving and receiving feedback and brainstorming techniques are presented and practiced.

OBJECTIVES

Participants will be able to:

·         Facilitate an effective meeting.

·         Create an agenda.

·         Select appropriate team members.

·         Establish meeting ground rules.

·         Determine the appropriate scope of the meeting.

·         Establish team member roles.

·         Understand decision-making methods and styles.

·         Use appropriate intervention techniques.

·         Use brainstorming techniques to solve problems.

·         Give and receive feedback to improve performance.

TIME AND PLACE

The training will be offered on two dates, February 1 and March 19, 2010 at Ivy Tech Lafayette.  Details will be provided the participants.  The cost for the training is $295 per student.  To enroll or if you have questions please contact:
